MND Tasmania seeks to support its members who have MND or Kennedy's disease by improving access to essential home modifications and equipment.
Following a request from an allied health professional, MND Tasmania can offer a contribution to assist members with the expense of essential equipment or home modifications. Applications need to be submitted by an allied health professional - often an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or speech pathologist.
This support could include a contribution towards:
- Equipment such as a powered wheelchair, electric bed, or adapted cutlery to help members complete their daily activities;
- Home or vehicle modifications such as rails or a ramp to help members access their home; or
- Other requests at the discretion of the board.
